That one upsets me A LOT, because that is one of the main points of the story and to me, it makes zero sense. Remember when you were supposed to be the goddess Aideen, reincarnated and it was super cool? Well, forget that because now everyone has Aideen’s gift. Remember Rob and Bob? The pirates? Yeah? Well, think again because according to the recent guided tours they’re now performers doing performance art. Not to mention the constant changes in the story. The same thing with Firfall (currently Mistfall) before it opened. Golden Hills, there was this castle and we weren’t allowed to go there, it was shrouded in mystery. You had to have a specific horse to ride around it, there was this native population, the Kalters, who would only share their horses and let you buy them if they trusted you. Remember when Dino Valley was this mystical and unique land? You could get lost in it at times. The world has lost a lot of its magic, a lot of its uniqueness. Getting excited over a new breed, getting new horses used to be so exciting. Doing rep every day and loving it because it felt like we were working towards something. Waiting every Wednesday because we were so excited for the update. Waiting to have enough SC and waking up super early to buy that horse you’ve wanted for so long, and being excited to finally have it. Yeah, back then the animations might not have been the best, but we were dedicated. I feel as though it is the same with SSO. But people do it because they WANT to play, and they’ll put that much effort into a game because they love it. They don’t run well, TS2 doesn’t even recognize new graphic cards and unless you apply all these patches and edit files within the game, you won’t be able to play it. TS2 was released in 2004 and TS3 was released in 2009. A lot of us including me STILL play TS2 and TS3, despite their technical difficulties. TS4 graphics and functions might be better, but there’s a huge difference in the love the team had for the other Sims games in the franchise. There’s no longer any love for the franchise, on EA’s side. TS4 is nothing but a cash cow for EA, and from the perspective of a TS2/TS3 player, the game feels absolutely soulless and empty. I’m a long-time player of The Sims franchise, and if you are as well, then you know how money-hungry EA has become. I can’t help but notice the similarities between EA and SSO, even though SSO is a much smaller company in comparison. I wouldn’t be mad about what they’re doing if I didn’t love it. Regardless of everything, I love the game. With all of the recent things that have been happening within the community, I feel helpless. Even though there are others that have been playing the game for longer, I still consider myself an old player because I saw the change of the game from old SSO to new SSO. I’ve been playing the game since 2016 (July 2016 more specifically).
